WORK HISTORY & EXPERIENCE
Roxanne graduated as an Occupational Therapist from the University of Cape Town in 2010. She elected to work at Chris Hani Baragwanath Academic Hospital (CHBAH) to complete her community service year and continued working there until the end of 2015. Roxanne spent the vast majority of her time at CHBAH, working in their Hand Unit. She gained valuable knowledge and skills whilst working closely with Hand Surgeons, Physiotherapists and other staff, to ensure effective patient management. During this time, Roxanne completed a Masters in Occupational Therapy (Cum Laude), specifically on flexor tendon rehabilitation of the hand and a Diploma in Hand Therapy, both at the University of Pretoria.
She has presented her Masters topic at two of the International Federation of Societies for Hand Therapy Congresses in Buenos Aires - Argentina (2016) and New Delhi - India (2013), as well as locally at The South African Society for Surgery of the Hand Congress.
Roxanne then went on to open her own private practice at Busamed Modderfontein Private Hospital. At the same time she also worked with Evanthia Pavli at the Linksfield and Rosebank Sports Centres. In 2018, Roxanne and Evanthia formed an official partnership and Joburg Hand Therapy was created.
