WORK HISTORY & EXPERIENCE
Evanthia graduated as an Occupational Therapist from WITS University in 2005. After completing her community service in Soweto, she went on to work as an Occupational Therapist at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria. She worked for 4 years in the Hand Unit with specialist Hand and Orthopaedic Surgeons. Her mentors included Hand Therapists and Surgeons who had worked in the field of hand therapy for much of their careers. She attributes her passion for hand therapy to their incredible mentorship and love for the field.
While working at Steve Biko Academic Hospital, Evanthia completed her Masters in Occupational Therapy (Cum Laude), specialising in hand therapy. Her work was presented in 2011 at the South African Society of Hand Surgery Congress.
In 2011 Evanthia started her own private practice at both the Linksfield and Rosebank Sports Centres which are situated in Johannesburg. These practices are located within a multidisciplinary arena, allowing for close interaction with Surgeons, Physiotherapists, Wound Specialists and Biokineticists.
Evanthia was fortunate enough to meet and work with Roxanne in various arenas from as early as 2012. In 2018, Roxanne and Evanthia united their individual practices to form Pavli and Wentzel Occupational Therapists INC - also known as Joburg Hand Therapy.
